Scot Greenwell has appeared in HART'S productions of The Merchant of Venice, Much Ado About Nothing, Othello and (in 2013) The Taming of the Shrew. Other credits include: A Midsummer Night's Dream (Indiana Repertory Theatre); Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Freud's Last Session, Next Fall, The Vibrator Play, and The Lyons (Phoenix Theatre); The Grapes of Wrath, Little Shop of Horrors, and The Santaland Diaries (Cardinal Stage Company). Directorial credits include: Drunk Enough to Say I Love You? (Phoenix) and A Steady Rain (Acting Up Productions). Scot grew up in southern Indiana, graduated from the University of Evansville's prestigious theatre program, spent an errant and fabulous year in L.A., and is now a 10-year resident of Indy's Fountain Square neighborhood. Among other things, he enjoys pinot noir, domestic and foreign travel, and medium- to large-breed canines.
Robert Neal has been a professional actor, teacher and director in the regional theatre for 30 years and is a company and board member of Heartland Actors Repertory Theatre. He has also spent the last fifteen seasons with the Indiana Repertory Theatre where he has appeared in nearly 40 productions. He has worked extensively around the Midwest as well as in Europe and has performed with the Indianapolis Symphony, the Early Music Festival of Indianapolis and at Lincoln Center in New York City. Television credits include Chicago Fire. Robert holds an M.F.A in Acting from the Pennsylvania State University and a Shakespeare Certificate from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He is a long time member of Actors Equity Association and was a 2007 recipient of the Arts Council of Indianapolis’ Creative Renewal Fellowship.
Phebe Taylorhas been seen with HART in The Tempest, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Much Ado About Nothing, and The Merchant of Venice. She was Peter in Peter Pan at Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre, and has appeared on the Phoenix Theatre stage in such shows as Boston Marriage, The Zippers of Zoomerville, End Days, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, and as Little Sally in Urinetown. She is a graduate of the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama and is a company member of Pushcart Players, a nationally touring theatre for young audiences, based in New Jersey. Phebe lives in Queens, where she is a licensed New York City Sightseeing Guide and an avid latin and ballroom dancer.
Ben Tebbe is a founding member of HART and was Company Manager for the first 3 years of its existence. With HART he has performed in Death and the Maiden, The Merchant of Venice, Much Ado About Nothing, The Tempest, Taming of the Shrew, staged readings of Happy Birthday, Wanda June and An Evening of Edgar Allan Poe, and stage managed the world premiere production of Midwestern Hemisphere. Other regional credits include performances with Indiana Repertory Theatre (Julius Caesar, Macbeth, Hamlet, Twelfth Night, Romeo & Juliet, A Christmas Carol), Phoenix Theatre (Clybourne Park, Avenue Q, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Urinetown: the Musical, Orson’s Shadow), and ShadowApe Theatre Company (Gorey Stories, Not A Peep). He is a 2011-2012 Creative Renewal Fellowship recipient from the Arts Council of Indianapolis. A proud Equity member, Ben earned his B.A. in theatre from Marian University where he is now the Director of Marian University Theatre.
Laura E. Glover (Lighting Designer) has lighted TWELFTH NIGHT, THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA, MERCHANT OF VENICE and MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING for Heartland Actors Repertory Theatre. Ms. Glover, the Resident Lighting Designer for Dance Kaleidoscope and for the Phoenix Theatre, has received international acclaim for her lighting with Dance Kaleidoscope, Ballets de San Juan and Workshop Theatre Group. She is also the lighting designer for Time For Three. An adjunct faculty member at University of Indianapolis, teaching lighting design, and a Creative Renewal Fellow, she holds her M.F.A. in Lighting Design from SUNY Purchase.
Guy Clark (Costume Designer) is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College. He manages the Indiana Repertory Theatre Costume Shop. During his twenty-one year career in professional theatre, he has created costumes for many original Broadway productions, including The Phantom Of The Opera, Cats, and The Lion King. In 2007, Aretha Franklin commissioned him to design and build a dress for her performance at that year’s Grammy Awards ceremony, and the following year, he created the two gowns she wore to President Obama’s Inaugural Balls. At the IRT he has designed costumes for And Then They Came for Me, An Iliad, The House That Jack Built, God of Carnage, I Love to Eat, Fire in the Garden, and Mary’s Wedding, as well as The Mountaintop.
Nathan Garrison (Stage Manager) is back with HART for his 6th production– he also worked on Twelfth Night, The Merchant of Venice, Othello, The Tempest (Stage Manager), & Much Ado About Nothing (Director). He is the Resident Stage Manager at Indiana Repertory Theatre, where he has worked for 19 years.
Jeff Mountjoy (Sound Engineer)
S. Bart Simpson (Props Design) After completing his MFA in Directing at The University of Texas at Austin, Bart returned to Indianapolis and worked with several theatres in the 80s and 90s. He built scenery and props at IRT, travelled to schools across Indiana performing adaptations of Shakespeare with the Indianapolis Shakespeare Theatre Festival’s troup WILL POWER. He directed and taught design, creative dramatics and stagecraft at Marian University. Bart also directed plays at the Phoenix Theatre, Theater on the Square and Shakespeare in Garfield Park. For the last fifteen years Bart has designed and built the Haunted House for the Childrens Museum. This year’s theme is PIRATE’S REVENGE. Bart can also be seen performing at the Indiana State Fair in his roll with the BLUE MONKEY SIDESHOW. Later this fall Bart will direct a new translation of Plautus’ TRUNCULENTUS for Butler University.
Todd Mack Reischman (Sound Designer) This is Todd’s 4th show with HART, including In A Dark, Dark House and last Summer’s Twelfth Night. Todd is the resident sound designer with Indiana Repertory Theatre, where his sound and original music has been heard in over 60 shows during the past 12 seasons. He also owns and operates LostSound studio and plays in several local bands. Todd is a major supporter of Dollies for Froggies and other Carlin-esque causes. In his spare time he likes to confuse complete strangers with random conversation topics, and point out recycle bins as a diversionary tactic. Todd also placed 19th this year in the 44 year old men’s category at the world hula-hoop championships.
B Sutherlin (TD/Set Construction) is a local Carpenter/Artist/Craftsman. In his third year working with HART, he could not be more thrilled to be a part of HART’s production of “The Winter’s Tale”. B also works around the country with various scenic arts companies as well as his own company building sets and scenery for stage, photography and films. As a scenic carpenter B has worked on sets at The Indiana Repertory Theater, The Phoenix Theater, American Cabaret, Theater on the Square and for the last fifteen years has been an intricate part of the design and construction of the Haunted House at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. B has also been a performing member of The Blue Monkey Sideshow since 1999.
Nolan Brokamp (Production Manager)
Kevin Caraher (Sound Assistant) is very pleased to be returning to HART for the third consecutive year, playing the role of the Sound Assistant. Kevin loves to perform Shakespeare as well, and just recently finished a run as The Priest/Gentleman of the Court in First Folio’s production of Hamlet. First Folio also did Henry V at The Studio Theatre in 2013 and Kevin portrayed Bardolph in that production. Other Shakespeare credits include Starveling/Moonshine in the CTS production of Midsummer Night’s Dream. Kevin has performed at Theatre On The Square, The Studio Theatre, The Tarkington, and The Indiana Historical Society to name a few. He is most proud of his one man show based on the life of Robert F Kennedy called RFK Remembered. It was performed at The Indiana Historical Society in 2004 and 2012. RFK Remembered also had a run at Marian University in 2007.
LaKisha Cooper (Event Manager & Program Administrator) is joining HART again this year as the Event Manager. After attending HART’s Tempest, she knew she wanted to be a part of the team in some capacity. A native Chicagoan, LaKisha has worked on special events in both Chicago and Indianapolis. She is excited to working with HART and building working relationships throughout Indianapolis. She would like to thank Diane Timmerman for this wonderful opportunity.
Janet Hock (Premium Seat Coordinator) is a retired periodontist and biomedical research scientist, who led various research programs in osteoporosis; environmental risks for cancer; community-based research in child nutrition; and clinical trials for stem cells in orthopedics. With her retirement in 2014, Dr Hock pursues her life-long interests and deep commitment to the arts through volunteer work, and advocating for mentoring women and those in poverty. These days, she is studying to become a lyric soprano, trilling 16th century pop songs. She enjoys working with (and watching) HART bring Shakespeare enthusiastically to life in a wonderful outdoor setting each summer.
Sam Fain has worked with HART in numerous capacities, as Lorenzo in The Merchant of Venice, Harrison in the world premiere of Midwestern Hemisphere and served as stage manager for Death and the Maiden. Other recent roles include George Milton in Of Mice and Men for Indianapolis Civic Theatre, Hawkeye in M*A*S*H for LTP, and Long John Silver and other characters in Treasure Island for Children's Theatre Institute. He attended the University of Indianapolis, where his favorite roles included Hamm in Endgame, Talthybius in Trojan Women, Ozzie in Sticks and Bones, Peter Patrone in The Heidi Chronicles, and Malcolm in Bedroom Farce. Sam also enjoys playing the guitar and tries to write a decent song here and there.
Lauren Morris became a member of the HART company after working on Death and the Maiden in the fall of 2006. She also appeared with HART as Penelope Ryan in the staged reading of Happy Birthday, Wanda June. In addition to being a company member of HART, she has worked in various roles - from actor to director to manager - at the following theatres: Indiana Repertory Theatre, Shawnee Theatre, Arden Theatre Company of Indianapolis, The Phoenix Theatre, Shadow Ape Theatre Company, Indy Fringe, Children's Theatre Institute, The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, SummerStage Repertory Theatre, Brown County Playhouse, Summerstock Stage, California repertory Company, Chance Theatre, and California State University. Lauren has an M.B.A and M.F.A. in theatre management from Cal State Long Beach. Immediately following graduate school she became Executive Director of Long Beach Playhouse, where she led a major artistic and financial turnaround of the revered 82-year-old institution, and she is now the Managing Director of Georgia Shakespeare in Atlanta. Lauren is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association.
Matthew Roland has deeply enjoyed his involvement with HART which includes Old Gobbo and Tubal in The Merchant of Venice and as part of the Edgar Allan Poe Reading. Locally, he has also performed for The Phoenix, Theatre on the Square, Indianapolis Civic Theatre, and the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, during which he became the proud father of an ulcer. As a playwright, his work has been produced in New York City, Indianapolis, Boston, and published by Baker's Plays.
